So, what kind of church is Peachtree?
As the name suggests, we are a community church that reflects the diversity and uniqueness of West Georgia community. We are a conservative, evangelical church (in everyday language, that means we believe the Bible is true and use it as our basis for understanding of God and life) that has a contemporary style. Our functions are as old and unchanging as the Scriptures, and our forms are as fresh and current as today's paper.

We are affiliated with the Willow Creek Association and the Southern Baptist Convention, both collections of like-minded biblical churches with whom we have relationships and share resources.

Our Mission
Our mission is to develop people into devoted Christ followers.

The mission of every church is fixed, given by the Head of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ. We don't decide on our mission. He commanded it in Matthew 28:18-20, called the Great Commission. Here it is as it appears in the Bible:

The Great Commission.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20)

We have simply personalized and translated some of the ancient language into a mission statement more easily understood by people of today. For instance, "making disciples" is translated as "developing devoted Christ followers." The meaning and instruction from Christ is unchanged, only translated for teaching purposes, much like we read an English Bible because Greek and Hebrew are not our first languages.
